Garden through the year - seasonal changes
|
Our garden is situated four miles from Bristol city centre. It is a south facing, medium sized garden approximately 40ft wide by 100ft long. There are two sections - flowers near to the house and fruit and vegetables at the bottom. It is surrounded by a mixed hedge mainly of beech and holly. We have a large wildlife pond with goldfish and many sorts of nest boxes and bee hotels.
We grow a variety of flowers predominately chosen to be wildlife-friendly by providing food and nectar all year around, but which also look attractive as a formal garden throughout the seasons. A variety of wildlife visits our garden which includes 35 bird species, foxes, badgers, amphibians including frogs, toads and newts, slow-worms, bees and butterflies, plus lots of different insects that are not always easy to identify. This website showcases a few of the photos and videos taken throughout the year. |
